The city
Some of the most important museums in the world, fascinating cultural events, art, music, history, fashion and of course a great cuisine. The city is situated one hour away from the Tyrrhaenean Sea and one and a half hour from the main winter resorts of the Apennine mountains. Florence is a city of many faces, from the lively quarters and picturesque markets to the many universities and the elegant streets lined by some of the most famous shops in the world. Moreover, the city offers ideal linguistic conditions for those who study Italian: the language spoken in the streets, the squares, the cafes and the markets is free of any dialect and its syntax is often cited as an example of linguistic correctness. Therefore, it is the ideal place to practise the language in a culturally exceptional environment.

The location
EUROPASS is right in the historical centre of Florence, within walking distance from the main monuments, churches, museums, the Duomo, Piazzale Michelangelo, and the river Arno. This lively area is affluent with trattorias, cafeterias and bars, thus perfect for the student life.

The school

Our institute is located in a prestigious neo-classical style building. Wide stairs lead to spacious and bright classrooms with up-to-date audio and video equipment, a big lounge and sunny balconies that are the ideal surrounding for studies, conversation or reading. Moreover, from the terrace located on the building roof you can enjoy a breathtaking view over the town centre and the nearby Santa Maria del Fiore cathedral. We devote much individual attention to our students, in a friendly atmosphere. Finally, the SoulSpace wellness center, located inside the school building, is an additional value for a proper balance between study and relax.
The staff
From receptionist to management the staff will help you feel at ease throughout your stay. They all are at your disposal at any time for any question or problem. Our teachers are highly qualified and motivated, friendly, open minded and above all … authentic Italians!
The courses
Our teaching method is based on modern and innovative principles, that immediately enable the students to communicate easily and confidently in everyday situations. Moreover Europass offers a wide choice of subjects beside the Italian language, including Visual Arts, Photography, Jewellery, Cooking and Culture studies. Our courses are attended by international students from all over the world, thus creating a very stimulating international atmosphere.

The activities
The activities are designed to bring students to closer contact with the Italian language and (being held here in Florence) ... Tuscan culture! Wine and cheese sampling, dinners in typical restaurants or pizzerias, discounts for theatrical plays and concerts, excursions into the Tuscan countryside and discovering Florence’s hidden places are a substantial part of our rich cultural and extracurricular program. Moreover we also organize sporting activities such as football games and bike excursions in the Tuscan countryside.
The accommodations

You can live in either the friendly atmosphere of a family or, if you want to be more independent, in an apartment shared with other students. Upon request and without extra charge, Europass will assist you in finding the most suitable accommodation, such as hotel rooms or tourist farmhouses of all categories, even out of Florence.

Intensive course

With 6 hours of lessons per day, this course is perfect for you if you seek to improve and strengthen your language proficiency in a short period of time. The course consists of 4 hours of Italian instruction in the morning and 2 additional hours in the afternoon. The afternoon sessions are designed to reinforce and master the material learned during the morning lessons.

Duration: min. 1 week;
Lessons: 6 hours per day, 30 hours per week;
Levels: from beginner to advanced;
Class size: min. 3 - max. 12

Semi-intensive course

If you prefer to have time in the afternoon to visit the city or beyond but still require some extra instruction time, this course is ideal.
The course consists of 4 hours of instruction each morning and 2 additional 2-hour lessons in the afternoon each week. We will help you learn Italian and improve your proficiency.
The additional afternoon lessons will serve to practice and improve on what you learned in the morning.

Duration: min. 1 week;
Lessons: 4 hours per day (morning) + 2 lessons of 2 hours each per week (afternoon);
Levels: from beginners to advanced;
Class size: min. 3 - max. 12

Standard course

Our Standard Course is right for you if you are planning to learn Italian or expand on and improve your knowledge of the language. In the 4 hour lessons each morning the emphasis is placed on linguistic development and as well as on increasing your oral and written communication skills - exactly what is needed to get along in every day life in Italy. After just a few months you will have realized your dream: to chat with Italians without hesitation.

Duration: min. 1 week;
Lessons: 4 hours per day, 20 hours per week;
Levels: from beginners to advanced;
Class size: min. 3 - max. 12

Compact course

If you want to learn Italian or improve your language skills studying just 2 hours per day, then this is your course.

Depending on which time slot you choose, you will be able to either concentrate on grammar studies of spoken and written Italian (9:10 am - 10:50 am) or focus more on communication in Italian by increasing your vocabulary (11:10 am - 12:50 pm).

Duration: min. 1 week;
Lessons: 2 hours per day, 10 hours per week;
Hours: 9:10 am -10:50 am (grammar analysis) - 11:10 am -12:50 pm (communication skills);
Levels: from beginner to advanced;

The fee includes reception and orientation services, course enrolment and attendance certificates, didactic material, accommodation search service, use of school facilities out of lessons, media loan service (VHS, DVD and texts), Student Card with discounts for shopping, free time and culture activities, organisation of extracurricular activities and events (including 4 free hours of weekly social activities ), and unlimited Internet access in the school.
This enrolment fee is valid for 12 months and must be paid upon enrolment.

Scholarships

Every year Europass, European Study Center makes available a number of scholarships allowing a substantial reduction on the language course price. Anyone interested in getting a scholarship should apply either to the Center or to Italian Institutes of Culture and University Departments of Italian Studies.
