Romanica is a school for the study of the Italian language. It is the ideal place to begin or continue one’s study of Italian and to use the language as an entryway to an understanding of Italian culture.
Since 1998 Romanica offers courses to students of all ages and all nationalities, as well as a rich variety of activities during students’ free time.
Romanica is located in Modena, right in the historic center. Its classrooms, decorated with eighteenth-century frescoes, are merely a point of departure from which students will discover the everyday rhythms of this unique, beautiful, and extremely liveable city.
The Teachers:
Ciao! We’ll be your teachers during your stay in Modena, and we want to give you a little background about our qualifications, our experience, and above all our enthusiasm.
After receiving our university degrees, we have specialized in teaching of Italian as foreign language, and some of us have also taught Italian abroad. We take great pleasure in our work. We find the opportunity to meet and interact with many people of different nationalities to be a source of constant enrichment on cultural, professional, and personal levels.
All of Romanica’s courses, organized according to the methods for the teaching of foreign languages set forth by the Council of Europe, are the fruits of our labours, both as individuals and in collaboration.
The goal of our program is communication. Pronunciation, vocabulary, and the grammatical structures of the Italian language are always presented in context, in order to develop comprehension, reading, speaking, and writing skills.
Because we ourselves have been foreign language students, we are particularly suited to address your needs and your difficulties, and we understand the importance of support and encouragement. We consider your interests and your motives for choosing to study Italian to be fundamental to our task. We are always available to respond to your needs, and we will do our best to work with you to achieve your educational goals.
COURSE CALENDAR 2008 The group courses start every second Monday (see the calendar below for the starting dates). The school is closed according to the Italian holiday calendar. The individual courses and small group courses will be started upon a request.
